Did you hear that Portugal became the sixth country in Europe to legalize same-sex marriage this week? It received little coverage in the media. This brings the tota number of countriesl worldwide to eight. Watch out for Argentina, Brazil and Denmark. Meanwhile, we get defeat after defeat in the very backward U.S. of A. It puts us to shame. Who would have thought eight democrats voted away our rights last December! Its beyond hate and bigotry. They’re in for a rude awakening come November! They can no longer take the gay vote for granted as they’ve always done. The ironic thing about Portugal is that a very conservative catholic President signed the legislation into law. I can’t imagine that happening in the U.S. under a Democratic or Republican presidency. Obama of course is against full equality.
