Just a temp set up until the new HS.com launches next week. I’ll be tweaking away at it for a few days.
I you notice anything…odd… or broken… trust me, I notice it too
I’m working on it…
welcome to a brand new version of the yin style! i was totally going to surprise everyone with two new designs for the site, but thanks to some loser deciding to hack us, you’re getting yin for now and i’ll get yang up when i get home from vacation.
anyway, i have spent most of the day getting this back up. i know there are a couple things that are still wonky right now ( mostly the photo page with the popups ) and i’ll get to them as soon as i can.
i am really sorry that it went down. rest assured that security around here has been tightened severely.
also, if you have any problems at all logging into the site to leave comments or anything, please let me know ( serialyze@gmail.com ), and i’ll fix it. migrating all of the user data turned out to be a little bit of a fiasco.
i’ll get everything back to being nice and shiny as quick as i can.

I will be hosting the Mercy for Animals “celebrating compassion” gala
January 23rd in Manhattan at the Prince George Ballroom. While tickets
and donations are always a welcome place for you to put your money,
they’re also seeking volunteers to work the evening and help it be
every bit as spectacular as it should. You can RSVP here on Facebook
or email mattrice@mercyforanimals.org for information on sponsorship,
volunteering and other questions.
You can also follow them on Twitter, @mercyanimals.
I will be hosting the awards for the Intimate Apparel industry
February 2nd in New York City. The Femmy Awards are produced by the
Underfashion club to support its scholarships, awards, internships and
grant programs for the future thong-makers of America – which was, for
the record, my favorite club in high school.
All joking aside, it’s a really nice award show I’m really happy to be
hosting. It’s so nice I have to borrow a suit to wear. No word yet on
whether I’ll go commando or be provided with special underwear by the
organization itself.
Oh and don’t worry… I realize there is a chance I could Bomb at the Underwear awards..but I doubt that’ll get me added to a No-Fly list – Whacka-Whacka-whacka..ahem..sorry..
Thanks to the lack of sunlight and over-abundance of relatives you’re not really connected to, the holidays can be a really stressful time for everybody. Annoying, aggravating, depressing, it’s no wonder that the cold and flu season hits at the same time.
So, as we know that laughter is the best medicine, here is some recommended reading for the holidays!
Without Feathers and Getting Even by Woody Allen, and Steve Martin’s Cruel Shoes are short, brief, easy reads that will make you laugh out loud and not mind.
I also recommend any of the Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy books, especially the first one.
Citizen Lazlo! by Don Novelo is a book my grandmother gave me. I could never tell if it was because she finished it and didn’t need it or was confused by it, but it contains some of the earliest works of punk populism books you’ll ever find by the man who gave us Father Guido Sarducci.
This is all part of my greater plan to raise the literacy rate in America, one chuckle at a time. Salud!
As you may have noticed, there’s a way you can email me through this site, but nowhere is the actual address listed – it’s actually yinyang@halsarks.com This is in reference to the style-switching on the site (which, if you haven’t tried, just click away!) and not me being some sort of a dork.
I’m trying right now to amass a collection of pictures of me with fans. After years of touring and doing meet and greets after every single show I’m sure there are tons of pictures out there and I’d like to have a copy. So if you’ve got a picture of us at the comedy show, please send it to this address.
And remember: if you ever send me a note, I’m the only one who reads it. I run all my won sites, I respond to all my own mail, I don’t have “my people” do it for me. It’s all a part of my plan to go as far as I can in this industry and still remain human.
Happy holidays!
